Dickie Beau works broadly as a theatre-maker, actor, and writer, and is perhaps best known for his long-form lip-sync shows and a distinctive approach to composing scripts from archive materials.
His most recent solo show, SHOWMANISM, had its successful run at Hampstead Theatre extended in the summer of 2025 (“Dickie Beau’s ingenious show is a spellbinding tribute to theatre” - The Financial Times; “a show with as much substance as style” - The Times).
Previously, in 2023, Dickie also had a successful run of another solo show, Re-Member Me, extended at Hampstead Theatre (“Bracingly original … enthralling … a biting tribute to Shakespeare” -The Times). Re-Member Me has toured to the Public Theatre in New York and several international festivals, receiving a nomination for a Helpmann Award in Australia.
Dickie is currently developing several writing projects for the stage and screen. His appearances as an actor include What it Feels Like For a Girl (BBC), The Gold (BBC), AIDS: The Unheard Tapes (BBC), The Sandman (Netflix), and Bohemian Rhapsody. Dickie is an Associate Research Fellow at Birkbeck Centre for Contemporary Theatre, and has received several awards including The Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award, Best Supporting Actor in the Off West End Theatre Awards, and Best Alternative performer in the London Cabaret Awards.
