Jamey is a British Screenwriter and Development Consultant based in Los Angeles, where he currently balances original writing projects, development consulting work on UK and US Features, and writing Vertical Streaming Dramas for various platforms.

In 2023, he moved from his native London to LA to undertake the Screenwriting MFA at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, graduating in 2025. He brings to his writing nearly two decades of development experience across British film and television. He was Development Executive at the BFI Film Fund (where he developed scripts that include PrideFrankLady Macbeth and God's Own Country), and for Paul Abbott (Shameless, State of Play), VP Creative at Elton John’s Rocket Pictures, Development Producer at Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Stolen Picture and Head of Development for Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave).

Jamey read Psychology & Neuroscience at Oxford, planning to be a therapist before deciding fictional people were easier to help. He then did the Producing MA at the NFTS before beginning his career as assistant to director David Yates on the Harry Potter films, where he also wrote additional material and made his acting debut and swansong simultaneously with the pivotal role of “Newspaper Vendor” in Order of the Phoenix.

Jamey is drawn to clever characters who are hopelessly underequipped for life. He writes across genres, but usually with a vein of surreal comedy.
