Series Overview & the Breed Character
The Breed series follows the adventures and exploits of Breed (we don’t know his first name), an ex-Delta Force sniper and warrant officer W-5. Among the military, he was a legend in Iraq and Afghanistan. Before the first novel in the series, he resigned after shooting several Afghan woman who were flaying American POWs alive. His resignation was voluntary and he continued in high regard among senior officers and the men he served with. Breed then returned to the USA where he did well financially, operating as a contractor for various private military and executive protection companies, private individuals, and the CIA. He is surrounded by a constellation of old friends, colleagues, and romantic interests. Breed is haunted by memories of his traumatic experiences at war. He refuses help and pushes his feelings down, only to have them erupt at inconvenient moments.
