Shane Dunphy (born 18 January 1973) is the author of 26 books, both fiction and non-fiction, which have sold more than 800,000 copies. He is a child protection expert, author, journalist, documentary maker, musician and teacher.
Shane holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and is Head of the Social Science and Early Education Department at Waterford College of Further Education in the South East of Ireland.
Shane’s publishing debut, Wednesday’s Child, a memoir of a year spent as a child protection worker in rural Ireland, was an Irish number one bestseller. The the first two titles in his True Crime series, Stories From the Margins, which was published as an Audible Original and for which Shane also acted as narrator and composed and performed original music, jointly held both the number one and number two spots on the Amazon True Crime charts for a week.
Shane has written three different crime fiction series, all of which have been bestsellers. His ‘Dunnigan’ series in particular has gained acclaim for its unflinching look at Ireland’s criminal underworld and its focus on unorthodox, outsider characters.
Shane has also ghost written for number of well-known public figures, several of which have been number one bestsellers.
