Aravind Jayan is a writer from Kerala, India. His first novel, Teen Couple Have Fun Outdoors, was named a ‘Best Book of 2022’ by Open Magazine, The Wire, Deccan Chronicle, and others. It was shortlisted for the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction, and has been translated into French, German, Swedish, and Italian.
Jayan’s short fiction has been published in several anthologies including A Case of Indian Marvels and 100 Indian Stories: A Feast of Remarkable Short Fiction from the 19th, 20th, and 21st Centuries from Aleph Book Company, and In My Coffee from HarperCollins. He won the Toto Funds the Arts Award in 2017 and was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2021. His second novel, A Situation on the Lunar Surface, is currently on submission. Jayan lives in Bangalore.
